Monaco's Dances

Monaco

La Palladienne — Monaco's traditional folk dance, performed in red-and-white Monegasque costumes to music played on mandolins and guitars, a highlight of national and local celebrations.

Classical Ballet in Monaco — Monaco has a world-renowned ballet heritage, from Diaghilev's Ballets Russes (based in Monte-Carlo in the 1920s) to today's Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, founded in 1985 by Princess Caroline and directed for many years by Jean-Christophe Maillot.

Contemporary Dance — Monaco's contemporary scene brings together international artists and bold creativity. Through Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the Monaco Dance Forum, the principality showcases innovative works that connect it to the global dance community.
